Job getting you down? If you find yourself less than thrilled with some aspect of your job, take some inspiration from Thanksgiving. Here are some quick exercises to help you focus on the positive:
Write a Letter: Think of someone who has helped you that you ever truly thanked. Write them a letter telling them how that made you feel and how you benefited from their help. Then, take the letter and read it out loud to that person, ideally in person.
Three Blessings: Each night before you go to bed, write down three things that went well today.
Thank Everyone for Everything: Make is a habit to constantly express your gratitude for others as the chance arises. Consciously pay attention for things that others do that are helpful, and thank them!
All of these exercises may seem trivial, but research has shown that if you do them, you will increase happiness and decrease your chances of depression.
