Bring Mindfulness To Work
Help your team to zen their work with a proven program that will teach them how to use mindfulness techniques without requiring meditation. What’s the impact of stress on your bottom line?
Here’s the reality: If you want your team to reach their highest levels of productivity and engagement, you have to help them manage the toxic stress hindering their performance. Consider these statistics:
Work is the #1 source of stress in people's lives.
More than 20% of workers spend five hours a week or more worrying about stress.
Employers are losing billions of dollars every year due to stress.
41% of workers report they are less productive due to stress. One-third of employees report they are less engaged with their job.
Give them the tools and guidance they need.
My mindfulness training will teach your team how to take control of their work experience, develop their personal empowerment, and show them how to effectively manage their stress to avoid burnout. You can start with a workshop or a retreat to introduce the concepts to your team, or you can invest in an on-going program for maximum impact. Here are just a few of the benefits my clients experience.
Develop personal empowerment.
Participants learn how to become more aware of the contribution they are making to each situation at work, empowering them to make better choices about how they focus their energy and attention.
Build better working relationships.
By developing greater self-mastery and confidence in their personal work style and approach, participants learn to build better working relationships and enhance communication with their colleagues.
Manage stress and burnout.
By learning to take greater control of their work experience, participants will learn to better manage their stress and reduce their risk of burnout, allowing for increased productivity and creativity.
Delivered on-site or virtually.
Have employees in multiple locations, or a virtual workforce? No problem. This program can be tailored for on-site or virtual delivery.
What sets this program apart.
Mindfulness training is one of the hottest trends in workforce development because it teaches your team to focus their energy and attention on what matters most.
So, what sets my mindfulness program apart from the others? It teaches how to integrate mindfulness techniques at work in a highly practical way that does not require meditation.
Don’t get me wrong: Meditation is a fantastic tool to have in your toolbox, but it’s also something many people struggle with. That makes it harder for them to use it every day. So, this program goes back to basics to help participants develop the self-mastery to cultivate a positive professional experience for themselves and others. The results include enhanced productivity, creativity, and engagement, as well as reduced stress and burnout.
Core Principles
Build awareness & self-mastery
Be aware and fully conscious of the internal and external factors in any context you’re operating in, including the inner dialogue going on in your mind, the sensations you’re feeling in your body, and the personalities you’re working with.
Develop a non-judgmental perspective
We love to judge things as good or bad, right or wrong, better or worse. But most of the time, things that happen at work only have the meaning that you assign them. Reserving judgment allows you to explore different possibilities and perspectives, choosing the one that best serves your goals.
Focus on the present moment
Most of our anxieties come form things that have happened in the past. However, they oftentimes also lead us to the most negative conclusions. Focusing on the present is about making the decision to look at the factors at play in front of you, right now, without letting fear of a repeat failure get in your way.
If you’re worried that the concept of “zen” in the workplace is going to be full of airy fairy claptrap or hollow platitudes, think again. The advice comes from years in the real trenches and provides tangible, real-life techniques you can apply today.
– From a review of Karlyn’s Book Zen Your Work
I literally wrote the book on it
Not only have the techniques in this program been researched and tested in real-world environments, but they are also the foundation of my book Zen Your Work: Create Your Ideal Work Experience Through Mindful Self-Mastery.
Training programs are much less effective when they don’t have follow-up components. That’s why every participant in the program receives regular follow-ups via email that provide additional guidance and tools to help to them implement the techniques they are learning in their daily experience and form habits that will serve them for the rest of their careers.
But that’s not all! Every participant also receives a copy of the book to supplement our work together, and provide a resource they can always refer back to when the program is done.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the program?
The standard program is six months long, with one hour-long live presentation each month. This gives us the time to help your team members develop the habit of making mindfulness a part of their daily routine, the the follow-up to promote accountability.
Can the content be drilled down into a one-time workshop instead of dedicating six whole months?
Yes, 2-4 hour workshops, or full day team retreats, are available that allow for a broad overview of the core concepts. Contact me for more information and a sample workshop agenda.
What are the monthly topics you explore?
If you’re interested in a month-by-month outline, contact me to schedule a time to connect. I’m happy to walk you through it and provide a takeaway for you to consider.
How can you teach mindfulness without teaching meditation?
It’s true that meditation is a key component of a mindfulness practice for many people. However, it is not the only component. My program teaches the non-meditation components, making it much more accessible to participants who may have been scared off from fully participating by a meditation requirement.
